The Nature Connectors
The Nature Connectors
Founded by Alison Goodwin and Georgia Davies - and managed by Adventures for the Soul - we developed and ran a nature connection project called The Nature Connectors. Based at Ampleforth Abbey Orchards, the aim was to bring greater nature connection and wellbeing to communities in the Howardian Hills and surrounding areas.
FiPL funding enabled us to run forest school for adults and ‘mindfulness in nature’ sessions, while teaching the wellbeing benefits of being outdoors. We worked closely with NHS teams, community social prescribers, other referring agencies and individuals to offer:
- Community drop in sessions
- Nature connection and wellbeing courses
- Wellbeing sessions for healthcare and service referral agency staff
- Further support through signposting and a wellbeing toolkit
Although the project has now finished, we can still offer you: a free online Nature Connection & Wellbeing Toolkit; access to other outdoor groups and activity providers and our final project summary report. Click on the links below to access these.
We're on the look out for new community project possibilities. We love collaborating with other organisations too. Please get in touch for a friendly chat and to explore options.
